Here are some of the resources that I
regularly recommend to people or use myself.

Pain and Treatment

This is a useful resource when you have persistent pain. It helps reframe the old “pain is tissue damage” idea and open up new ways of approaching pain by bolstering your overall health.

Recovery Strategies Pain Guide Book

I love pretty much everything Paul Ingram writes and use it as a resource. I appreciate the couple of people that I know or know of who I call “research synthesizers”. They keep up with current research and compare results and conclusions, then give their informed perspective on what it seems to mean or doesn’t.

Back Mechanic, by Doctor Stuart McGill. His other books are great too, but technical. This is more of a user’s manual.

Simple Steps to Foot Pain Relief by Katy Bowman

Movement

Bending the Aging Curve: The Complete Exercise Guide for Older Adults, by Joseph Signorile

For articles to help inform and inspire a movement practice and well designed home exercise programs for those who don’t struggle with showing up and have a basic understanding of progression and regression of difficulty.

Tim Anderson’s YouTube channel is full of ideas for how to explore and nurture your body through movement. I get exercise ideas from here. I love his gentle manner and sense of humor.

Lifestyle

I found this book useful for appreciating one of the greatest, free healing resources available to all of us…hopefully. It definitely made me start appreciating the part of my day I’m not awake for: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_We_Sleep.
